Kharadi society residents tweet to CM Devendra Fadnavis on weak wall

 of Mount-N-Glory residential society in Kharadi on Tuesday tweeted to chief minister

Pune Municipal Corporation

 regarding a common compound wall with the Alcon Renaissance, developed by Alcon Landmarks.

The move comes two days after the compound wall of Alcon Stylus society in Kondhwa, also developed by Alcon Landmarks, collapsed, killing 15 building workers under its debris.

Mount-N-Glory residents tweeted the picture of the compound wall erected by Alcon stating that though the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had issued a notice to the developer in 2017, its proprietors did not pay heed to it and rectified the problem.

The project is just a decade old, but its wall is not in a good shape, a resident of the society told TOI. “This wall belongs to Alcon society, matter highlighted to builder long back but no result,” read the

Kharadi Residents’ Association chairman Nitin Memane, former chairman of Mount-N-Glory Satish Joshi and Yogesh Birari, a member from the same society, have been actively following up the issue with the PMC.

After the residents’ tweet, the PMC replied that it had issued a notice to the builder again and asked the residents to take due care of the wall.

After the residents’ tweet, the PMC replied that it had issued a notice to the builder again and asked the residents to take due care of the wall.Joshi said they want the PMC to strongly intervene in the matter and ensure that the wall was strengthened so that it did not collapse.

Memane, the chairman of Kharadi Residents’ Association, which has nearly 45 associations under it, said the residents were continuously following up with the PMC over the issue, but no strong step had been taken to initiate action against the builder.

“After we read about the compounding wall of Alcon Stylus collapsing in the newspapers, we felt that the developer had done a shoddy work in this project too and it should be taken care of immediately,” he added.
